ANKARA UNIVERSITY (Leader Organization)
As the oldest university of the Turkish Republic, the history and mission of Ankara University has greatly coincided with that of the young state founded by Atatürk, the great leader. The establishment of the Turkish Republic was much more than just a change in government; it was also a great social transformation based on modern science, contemporary democratic values and institutions Ankara University provides education through associate (two-year) degree programs, and undergraduate (bachelor degree) programs through its 16 faculties, 2 vocational schools, 9 colleges and a state conservatory. Graduate level education is provided by its 13 graduate schools as well as 37 research centers.. It has 109 undergaraduate programmes as well 536 graduate programmes. As of the end of 2014, Ankara University has nearly 61 000 students (undergraduate and graduate students). Newly enrolled students can attend the foreign language preparation courses during their first year. Ankara University has about academician as well as 1697 instructers, while there are 5687 administrative staff at University.
Especially Since 1980, it has increased cooperation with foreign universities. With many bileteral agreements and protocols signed, it has make cooperation about 600 universities in the world. Most of agrements were made with European universities. Currently it is a member of many international organizations in education, such as a member of international assocations of universities, a member of European University Association, network of universities from capitals of Europe.
